    Dear Readers,

Welcome to our new electronic gazette that will be published in
Arabic under the title “Al Moustakilloun”, and in English, “The
Independents”. We sincerely hope that you will like it, and that you
will be interested enough to join us in our quest for the “TRUTH”.

“Al Moustakilloun” wants to become the first media instrument in
Lebanon to connect “directly” the citizens to the Authorities, the
    governed to their government.

For our first publication we have selected four controversial
subjects that have held, at one time or another, some prominent
position in the media, but were later set aside to make place for
some sensational events more likely to attract the interest of news
    hungry readers.

The issues that we have raised concern an already half forgotten
environmental disaster with regional repercussions, the runaway
and uncontrolled  energy costs of our electricity, the need for a
sober and scientific reassessment of our agricultural policy, and,
last but not least, a new approach that is called for the privatization
    of our mobile telecommunications sector.

The manner that these issues have been handled in the past has
had, in one way or another, some strong negative impact on our
economy and on our environment. It also represents the typical
result of the “laisser-faire” attitude adopted by most governments
since the day of our independence.

We now look for your comments and your suggestions. This is after
all your government, and your country. The future of your children
and your grand children is at stake, so mobilize. Tell us, but more
relevantly, tell the ministers that you have newly appointed how you
would solve these puzzles if you were put in charge?

Write us at Administrator, P.O.Box 207/70 Antelias, Metn or email us
at admin@lebcpi.org  or at lebcpi@gmail.com to share your concern
    with us.
